The Governing body which includes the Headteacher, has responsibility for the management and organisation of the school as well as oversight of its organisation and performance.

The governing body is made up of local and other interested persons with elected members from the staff and parents. Their powers and responsibilities are as follows :

• Governors have responsibility for agreeing, monitoring and reviewing the aims and objectives, policies, plans and procedures of the school.

• Governors' responsibilities include the development and implementation of the school development plan and ensuring that the requirements of the National Curriculum are met.

• They are responsible for the fínancial management of the school budget, personnel and premises issues.

• Governors are committed to working in partnership with the school staff, parents, the Local Authority and other agencies.

• The Governing Body has statutory duties to oversee certain specific policies.
